Governor - Georgia Science and Technology Commission - Minutes
Scope and Contents
The Georgia Science and Technology Commission was created in 1964 as a successor to the Georgia Nuclear Advisory Commission to keep the Governor and the Georgia General Assembly informed of the progress and opportunities in science and technology so that Georgia might play a greater role in various national programs in the field. The commission consists of between 30 and 40 science oriented members appointed by the Governor. This series includes Minutes of both the full commission meetings and those of the Executive Committee of the commission from September 1965 to May 1972. With the Minutes are often included pertinent correspondence, reports, copies of university newsletters, rough drafts of recommendations as to future policies and programs and reservation cards sent in by the members planning to attend the various meetings.
