Veterans' Services - Public Information Section - Information Bulletins
Scope and Contents
These bulletins compiled by the Public Information Section bear a close resemblance to both the Executive Orders, Series 8, and Field Letters, Series 9. The main difference in the bulletins is in the format. Whereas the other two records address themselves to a particular audience and cite the person from whom they emanate, the bulletins merely list the subject dealt with and the source from which the information is derived. The chief reason for having the bulletins is apparently to provide a means by which information from other states' veterans service departments and the federal government might be shared with Georgia Veterans Service personnel. The subject matter is similar to that covered by both the Executive Orders and the Field Letters. The numbering system of these bulletins was extremely haphazard over the years and as a matter of fact ceased altogether for long periods. Consequently, it is important to check the finding aid carefully to find a particular number.
