Scope and Contents
The Council was created by Act 609 of the 1973 General Assembly to develop criteria and standards for assuring desirable development, conservation and protection of areas designated as vital. This bound report contains: results of public hearings held at key points throughout the State; Council recommendations based on information gathered at the hearings, including: flood plain protection, sedimentation and soil erosion, and property tax changes; comparison between recommended vital areas Act of 1974 and vital areas Bill of 1973; and section-by-section summary and recommended vital areas Act of 1974. Bound in the front of the volume is an introductory letter from the Council Chairman addressed to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and House Speaker. There is a table of contents.
