This series contains the annual reports of the Southwestern State Hospital in Thomasville, its affiliate, Bainbridge State Hospital, and outpatient facilities in Albany and Valdosta. A typical issue might contain short narrative reports from the following divisions: (1) Activity Therapies (2) Public Information (3) Nursing Education (4) Social Work Services (5) Volunteer Resources (6) Business Office (7) Engineering and Plant Operations (8) Personnel (9) Food Service (10) Security (11) Communications (12) Bainbridge State Hospital (13) Decatur Intermediate Care Facility (14) Admissions (15) Geographic Units including Albany, Thomasviile and Valdosta (16) Alcohol and Drug Program (17) Developmental Disabilities Services (18) Pharmacy (19) Radiology (20) Laboratory (21) Psychiatry (22) Medical Records (23) Psychology (24) Vocational Rehabilitation and (25) Computer Services. A typical volume also contains rosters of Department and institution personnel, feature articles on additions to the facilities and certain key personnel, a table of contents and is about 50 pages in length. An extensive appendix to each volume contains statistical data, organizational charts, costs data and hospital maps for both institutions.
