In these two volumes are recorded data relating to militia districts, primarily numbers and the counties in which the district are (or were) located. One book entitled “Militia Districts, Executive Department” and the other “Militia Districts, Secretary of State” with both books containing similar information. Each book having at least two sections: 1. Militia district listed in numerical order (regardless of the location) and 2. Listed the county with the militia districts numbers listed underneath. Both recordings usually show district numbers, name of the district, county in which the district was originally located, and a notation of subsequent county/counties if county lines changed or a new district was created.
