Surveyor General - Lottery Records - Lists of Fortunate Drawers
Scope and Contents
These volumes record the names of all fortunate drawers in Georgia's last five lotteries. Each entry includes the name of the fortunate drawer; the location of the land drawn by district and land lot number, section for Cherokee only; and the county or district of residence of the individual at the time of registration for the lottery.
The status of many participants is given, as: W.R.S., for widow of Revolutionary soldier; orphan(s); or Sol., which denotes a soldier or veteran of either the War of 1812 or the Indian Wars.

Arrangement Note
All books are arranged chronologically by lottery, 1807 through 1832, thence alphabetically by county, with one county recorded in each volume. The entries are in loose alphabetical order, the names of fortunate drawers are grouped together by the first letter of the individual's surname.
