The Inferior Court, a common law court, was established in each county by the Georgia Constitution of 1789. The court had a dual function, to administrate probate and hear minor cases, and when sitting for county purposes, to conduct county business. A constitutional amendment of 1852 provided for a separate court of ordinary for each county which took on the inferior court's probate functions. This series of unbound records contains information concerning elections. Information found in the series includes: (1) ballots; (2) voters lists; (3) tally sheets, and (4) oaths of election officials.
