This series consists of photocopied material documenting the background information on Office of Vocational Education (OVE) agenda items submitted to the State Board of Education for consideration. A typical index to the minutes of the various meetings includes: (1) approval of minutes of previous meeting (2) consideration of tentative agenda for upcoming meeting (3) reports from ad hoc committees (4) recommendations from the Professional Practices Commission (5) consideration of personnel recommended for employment or promotion (6) report from the Committee of the Whole (7) report from the Executive Secretary (8) next meeting of the State Board of Education (9) visitors. Also included (not an inclusive list) are: (1) grant applications (2) recommendations of adult & vocational items to the State Board of Education from the Committee of the Whole (3) agreements (4) memoranda (5) budget items (6) state plan for vocational education (7) OVE division director's recommendation's (8) background information to explain board minutes (not included in official minutes files) (9) related documents. It is the responsibility of OVE to provide executive management and leadership for: (1) the state vocational education program (2) the development, execution & maintenance of the state plan for vocational education (3) assisting the 187 school system & 24 area vocational/technical institutions in providing effective vocational education programs that meet the needs of local communities throughout Georgia.
