This series consists of (1)contest applications,(2) contest results, (3)original photographs and (4) correspondence relating to the vocational skills contests sponsored by the Future Farmers of America. Covering an array of selected agricultural topics as well as related fields, these records show the different skill needs, occupational background requirements and expenses involved in the undertaking of a project developed under controlled conditions. The photographs included in the majority of these files show the individual progress of each contestant's selected project. It should be noted that a small sampling of the original photographs were separated from several files and placed in the custody of the Photograph Collection in the Central Research Section of the Archives. Here a researcher can inspect this sample to gain an overall view of the value these photographs have on the series as a whole.
