Legislature - Legislative Reapportionment - Newspaper Clippings
Scope and Contents
This series contains the photocopies of clippings from a large collection of Georgia newspapers documenting, at least in part, the legislative, judicial and press controversies that arise in redrawing the geographic boundaries of Georgia's congressional, house (of representatives) and senate election districts. As for the very early newsclippings, one cannot be certain that an entire set of clippings is present due to the fact that there appears to be an inordinate number of clippings from some months, and none at all from others. The copies were evidently made rather hurriedly and thus are sometimes difficult to read at first glance. For example, if portions of clippings were not copied in one image, a second was made and appended to the first. In other instances, corners and edges were sometimes folded over and thus not copied. A few copies have no dates or even newspaper names in evidence.
