Western and Atlantic Railroad - Master of Transportation - Station Agency Records
Scope and Contents
This series consists of unbound records of the stations on the Western & Atlantic. Included are "time rolls" (payroll records), receipts and principally correspondence treating: (1) freight claims on losses, damages or overcharges, (2) notices of "passed bills" for agents, (3) ticket sales, and (4) record-keeping and reporting to Atlanta. This series is more a sampling than a comprehensive source of the history of the agencies. These records may be used in conjunction with the correspondence of the railroad's operating officials. The papers have been placed in folders according to station name.
