This series contains news releases issued by the Office of the Superintendent of the West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus. Among the subjects addressed might be staff changes, new and revised programs offered at the hospital and new facilities constructed or dedicated at the institution. As is usual with such records, they were designed to be copied by the various weekly or daily newspapers in the State and to be utilized by radio and television stations as well.

The collection primarily contains family correspondence and receipts for goods and payments. Business papers include the purchase agreement of a mule, 1883, by Merrick. There are numerous letters to Marietta W. Austin from an old love named C.J. Johnson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1939 - 1941. Also included are a land deed (Murray County, 1848), marriage application and license (1929), and war ration books from World War II.

This series contains correspondence and legal documents regarding the investigation and purchase of land by the Metro Atlanta Olympic Games Authority in advance of the Olympic Games. Folders may contain photographs, maps, legal descriptions, correspondence with the owners, and purchase information (or information on the decision not to purchase).

Advertisement for a celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the "1st Battalion Infantry, G.S.T., Colored," featuring a parade and picnic in Savannah for companies from Alabama and South Carolina as well as Georgia.

This series consists of minutes of the regular and special sessions of the Milk Control Board. In some instances notices to the members announcing the meeting and the agenda are included. Most of the minutes are in bound volumes.

This series consists of records that relate to the general administration of the Milk Control Board. The records include correspondence, reports, studies, invoices, personnel information, requisitions, publications, and other varied miscellaneous material.

Records of the Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, to Milledgeville, Baldwin County, Georgia, line for the entire year and about five pages of records for the Augusta to Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, line (August 12 - December 27). The book lists surname of passenger, number and type of parcels carried, amount of fare, and totals per day and month. William Fuller signed as receiving receipts each month.

This series consists of annual reports of the Department of Mines, Mining and Geology. These published reports present in concise but comprehensive form the varieties of work undertaken by the Department, particularly emphasizing the programs of investigation and research in mineral resources and the accomplishments of the Department during each year. There are also reviews of work done in cooperation with other agencies.

This series consists of: (1) miscellaneous reports, (2) information circulars, (3) surveys, (4) handbooks, and (5) publications lists in both hardcover and paperbound volumes. Most of the reports give a review of activities of the Department in conjunction with federal and other state agencies and reveal information and studies of geological resources and conditions throughout the state.

This series contains the annual reports to the state geologist. The reports are printed and paperbound and give a broad survey of the department's activities while offering recommendations for the future. The reports list gifts and loans received by the Georgia Geological Survey.

This series consists of quarterly reports of the State Geologist and Assistant State Geologist as given to the Governor and the Advisory Board of the Geological Survey of Georgia. These narratives vary in form and content and cover the years 1909 - 1936. The quarterly reports covering the fiscal activities of the State Geologists office may be found in RGSGSERIES 50-1-24, Financial Reports and Warrant Requests.

This series contains reports of the annual examination of departmental accounts conducted by the state auditor. Information is provided in four categories: (1) receipts and disbursements; (2) analysis of personal services, which indicate employees' names, job titles, salaries, and individual expenses; (3) analysis of travel expenses by individual, and (4) reconciliation of bank accounts.

This is a series containing expenditure ledgers for the department. Some of the bound volumes list the expenditures incurred in organizing and setting up a Georgia exhibit for the St. Louis Exposition of 1904. They also detail expenses for moving the exhibits to the Jamestown Exposition. Other volumes list expenses incurred by field geologists. Each of the ledgers indicates the date the payment was made, the person paid, the services rendered and the amount paid.

This series contains accession records for the State Geologist's Library. The bound volume includes for each accession: (1) the accession number, (2) title, (3) author, (4) date of accession (after 1894), and (5) the place from where the publication was received.

Part I: geological descriptions and topographical measurements of specific locations, surveys, maps, sketches, and travel records arranged by name of mineral. Part II: well reports, including county maps, well name and number, location, owner, date of completion, depth and use. Arranged alphabetically by county. Part III: geological descriptions and topographical measurements of specific location, surveys maps, sketches, and travel records on miscellaneous minerals.

This series contains the manuscript versions of the Bulletins of the Georgia Geological Survey. For published volumes, see RGSGSERIES 50-2-27, Georgia Geological Survey Bulletins.

This series consists of published monographs on specific geological subjects in Georgia. There are both hard and soft bound volumes and some volumes contain loose maps. The bulletins contain reports of surveys on geological resources and conditions of the state and each volume covers a specific resource or condition on a local or statewide basis. This series is related to RGSGSERIES 50-2-17, Drafts of Bulletins.

The Georgia Mineral Newsletter is a quarterly periodical containing articles on Georgia geological conditions. These are illustrated and supplemented by maps. The newsletters' primary function is to provide the public with information on Georgia's geological conditions. More detailed information of this kind can be found in RGSGSERIES 50-2-23, Annual Reports of the Department of Mines, Mining and Geology.

This series consists of statements of production and value of Georgia minerals and lists producers of various minerals. The statements are loose papers, tables and charts. The production statements include: (1) names of companies, (2) amount of minerals produced in ton and value, (3) ad­dresses of the various producers, and (4) tabulations of the U.S. Bureau of Mines.

This series consists of registers of chemical analyses and assays of minerals and water conducted by the Geological Survey of Georgia. Entries include information about property owners, locations, and summaries of the analyses. Early entries also include method of analysis.

This series consists of: (1) bound and unbound manuscripts, (2) maps of geological areas or deposits, (3) sketches and drawings illustrating geological resources or conditions, and (4) texts of studies of specific geological resources or conditions on a local or statewide basis. Also included is a manuscript that gives the geological history of the state.

This series consists of paperbound scrapbooks which contain newspaper articles dealing with the Department's activities and geological phenomena in Georgia. The clippings were collected by the Department's staff from newspapers of numerous Georgia cities and towns as well as from outside the state.
