The volumes record legal cases handled by an unnamed attorney in Troup Co., GA, primarily on behalf of veterans of the War of 1812 and the 1830s Indian wars seeking bounty land compensation. Brief military information on clients is recorded. Other entries concern promissory notes and land titles.

These files are created for reference by the Attorney General so that he might avoid repetition of opinions on similar or identical subjects. Secondly, these files are used in the compilation of the Unofficial Opinions of the Attorney General published each year.

These newsletters were published monthly and are composed of news clippings which are synopses of the opinions the Attorney General has lately rendered. This series was apparently intended for the use of law enforcement officials and other interested persons.

Series contains miscellaneous publications created by the state of Georgia (including editions of Georgia laws from the 1920s-1940s) and publications used by state officials (including a number of publications related to communism and the Soviet Union).

This series consists of unpublished and unbound opinions of the Attorney General of the State of Georgia. Ga. Code 45-15-3 stipulates that one of the duties of the Attorney General is "when required to do so by the Governor, to give his opinion in writing, or otherwise, on any question of law connected with the interest of the state or with the duties of any of his departments..."

Briefs, court transcripts, assorted filings, and other miscellaneous papers related to death penalty cases heard in the state of Georgia.

These published booklets contain analysis of almost all the general bills of Statewide application which were enacted by the General Assembly at each and every session. The act number of each is indicated as is its page citation in the published laws. The analysis consists of a short summary of the subject of the act and should not be construed as an opinion on its constitutionality.

These documents relate to state ownership of marshlands and beach shorefront. Included are: correspondence; pleadings; research; evidence and exhibits; and transcripts of hearings and depositions, etc. The case represents the State of Georgia v. State of South Carolina in a boundary dispute along the Savannah River, 1972 to 1990.

The papers consist mainly of Pulaski County, Georgia land and financial records; included also are Lawrence's life insurance policy, his will, his license to practice law, and various commissions. Some of the real estate papers are in the name of his wife, Eleanor.

This collection includes records of bills receivable and payable, relating to various business interests including a drugstore and bookstore.

Included in the collection are: incorporation petition, bylaws, annual reports, reports of annual meetings, minutes of official meetings, committee records including the Education Fund Records, local league administrative records, presidential correspondence, publications, workshop descriptions, membership records, daily office logs, and litigation files.

Conventions were called by action of the State Legislature for several reasons, the most prevalent being to improve existing state constitutions or to write new ones. The Convention of 1787 was called to ratify the United States Constitution. Two conventions, one in 1850 and one in 1861, convened to consider the problems of states rights and secession.

This series contains drafts of the revisions of individual sections of the corporation code. In most sections there are comparisons between the provisions of the present Georgia corporation code and those of other states. In some instances, there are several proposed revisions of a section.

This series contains the correspondence of the coporation code revision commission. It includes correspondence with Professor Pasco M. Bowman of the University of Georgia, Professor Sigman Cohn of the University of Georgia, and Secretary of State Ben W. Fortson.
