This series consists of Annual Reports of the Georgia Surface Mined Land Use Board. These reports include: (1) information on all activities included in surface mining in Georgia, supplemented by illustrations, maps and charts; (2) pictures of the current members of the Board; (3) financial statement for the fiscal year, and (4) projected needs and objectives for the coming year.

This series contains the Proceedings of the Georgia Surface Mined Land Use Board Symposium on the Rehabilitation of Drastically Disturbed Surface Mined Lands. The proceedings contain talks by participants on the environmental results of surface mining and suggested idea, for reclamation. A list of those attending is included.

This series consists of the WPA project files of Captain Garland Peyton, Director of the Department of Mines, Mining and Geology. It contains: (1) drafts of the proposal for the state-wide project, (2) personnel files for the supervisors and technicians, (3) periodic reports from counties and districts, (4) copies of the monthly state-wide reports, (5) financial records of the contributions of the sponsors of the state-wide project, and (6) other project related materials.

Collection includes newspaper clippings, speeches, and other records documenting Daniel's struggle to become a lawyer and practice law in Georgia.

The collection contains books and magazines covering the southeastern United States, copies of original documents, and compilations by Ms. McWhorter. The major families are Cheney, McWhorter, and Parham; and the major areas, Wilkes County, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Courtship letters between Robert (Bobbie) G. Mitchell and Amaretta (Nettie) Fondren while he was serving with the 29th Georgia Regiment Volunteers, Company E, and Nettie lived at home in Thomasville, Georgia, or attended Lucy Cobb Institute in Athens. Camp life, war campaigns, family relations, and religious beliefs are described. Additional correspondence by other family members is also included.

Letters and post cards written to Molcie by school friends and relatives, including her sons in the military around World War I and her daughter, a nurse. Includes typical rave notes (1881-1884), a single letter (1868) describing Kentucky presidential election results, and photographs.

Miscellaneous records including poor school records, estrays, estate records, superior court records, civil docket, deeds, bonds, sheriff's minute book, appearance docket, tax digest, trial docket and grand jury presentments, dating from late 1790 to the 1860s.

Two letters from Moren to his son William. The first describes crop production and economic conditions as well as comparing the beliefs of the Baptist church with other denominations. The second also discusses crops as well as family matters and camp life during the War of 1812.

Volume includes titles of books checked out and names of club members.

This series consists of bound digests of wild lands containing: (1) name of landowner (2) post office address (3) number of acres of land (4) district number (5) county where land is located (usually left blank) (6) total value of land and (7) amount of tax assessed.

Includes an 1847 - 1850 record of cash received by Morris and Freeman of Carnesville, Franklin County, Georgia; 1852 - 1857 daybook entries, citing date, name of account, goods purchased, and cost; 1854 - 1857 record of cash received from Morris and Freeman for pensions due specified persons; and an undated list of cotton bought by Morris and Freeman.

Ten Civil War letters from Darling Deloren "D. D." Morris, 19th Regiment Georgia Volunteers, Company G, and others to Sarah Morris in Winder, Georgia, plus two news clippings.

The collection includes correspondence and memos relating to Cox's career. Also included is his sketchbook from Clemson College (1912/13); a published book by A. B. Butler of World War I cartoons depicting soldiers' experiences, photographs of Atlanta's highway development; and certificates and publicity from professional engineering organizations.

The volume contains not only organizational minutes but also financial accounts and genealogical information for the Conner family of Walton County, Georgia.
