This publication is issued bi-monthly by the Recreation Planning Section of the Office of Planning and Research. This is a newsletter dealing with parks and recreation facilities in Georgia and the staff members' activities in the above named section of the Department of Natural Resources.

The publications in this series were compiled by the Department of Parks and Recreation before State government reorganization in 1972 and by the Public Relalions and Information Section of the Department of Natural Resources afterwards.

This series contains: (1) reports (2) correspondence (3) commission minutes (4) by-laws (5) biographical information on some commission members (6) job descriptions and other personnel records not of a confidential nature (7) news releases (8) speech and other presentation texts and (9) miscellaneous records.

This series contains (1) correspondence, (2) program brochures, (3) field notes, (4) reports, (5) evaluations, (6) guidance on specific issues related to facilities and programs, (7) memorandums, (8) personnel records and (9) fiscal records. These papers document one of the chief missions of the Recreation Services Selection, the rendering of guidance, assessing of local recreation programs and solving of problems for agencies and communities throughout Georgia.

Description of the Frances B. Forrest and William Smith household kitchen in 1877 (the year of Frances' death), recollected later by Smith's grandchild, possibly a daughter of Ann Elizabeth Smith and James A. Park. An unusually detailed account of life on an 1870s farm with both white and African American workers in the Peavine Creek area of Catoosa County, Georgia.

The collection contains correspondence (which gives family information and describes the fire), business operational sheets, invoices, price lists, and brochures.

The collection contains correspondence, maps, publications, newspaper clippings, bumper stickers, and transparencies.

Letters relating to Weltner's resignation as Chancellor of Georgia's University System. Scrapbook pages of his career from about 1910 - 1935. Many photographs of family, professional life, and his 1973 Shining Light award. Some genealogical records and a manuscript of his published work, Recollections.

Written to Edward Rutledge on November 29, concerning Cumberland Island land owned by Mrs. Greene, the widow of General Nathaniel Greene. After Mrs. Greene lost Mulberry Plantation, she and Miller moved to her property on Cumberland.

Program for October 19, 1887, containing mainly Atlanta advertisements and warnings to visitors. Horse racing with prizes was on the schedule.

This collection contains three bills of sale for enslaved persons purchased and sold by Samuel Mitchell of Pike County, Georgia.

Record of Mrs. C. O. Turner's several classes of fourth and fifth grade students for a year. The register lists names, ages, class grade, attendance records, monthly grades for various subjects, and some personal notes. At the end of each class is a yearly summary.

Record of general merchandise purchased of or by Jonathan Davis for the Pine [Piney] Woods House Store. Also included is an inventory of the 1819 store stock.

Records consist of the club's original constitution, minutes of meetings, correspondence, membership lists, and documents relating to their annual fair and other activities.

Advertisement for Planters' Hotel in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA. The facility offered supper, breakfast, and lodging for 3 dollars.

Papers include a newsclipping about Pledger Bolton "P. B." Jones; 1909 school themes by his wife, Trudie B. Jones; musical scores and lyrics written by P. B.. Also included are a 1945 aircraft certificate and a letter of condolence from Senator Talmadge to the family on Pledger's death in 1961.

This collection includes Girls' High School commencement records, 1881; newspaper articles; compositions; and an 1873 pencil sketch by Ella Powell. Also contains Dr. Powell's certificates; a reprint of his address to the Eclectic Medical Society that includes a poem, "The Old Slave's Lament;" and photostats of family Bible records.

Published minutes from the Antioch [1930, an African-American association], Alapaha River, Brushy Creek Union, Primitive Ebenezer, Euharlee, Friendship, Harmony, Little River, Marietta Old School, New Beulah, New Hope, Ocmulgee, Oconee [Old School], Pulaski, Sequachee Valley, Upatoie, and Yellow River Associations.

This series consists of several reports and studies made at each of the various penal facilities in the State. Included are: (1) 1967 Report of Sanitary Conditions (2) reports on prison industries (3) general correspondence, reports and studies. The summation of the 1967 Report of Sanitary Conditions was taken from an earlier inventory created in 1981.

This series contains a variety of general office correspondence, reports and other printed information concerning the correctional institutions across the State. These files do not, however, represent all of the correspondence concerning the various camps and branches, as there are identical subject file titles in many instances in RGSGSERIES 21-2-24, General Administrative Subject Files of the Director.

These bound volumes are introduced with a report of the nutritional breakdown of the menus. The majority of the file consists of daily menus for all institutions in Georgia which are detailed from snacks to main courses. The lunch menus are for offenders in the prison only and do not cover those on road crews, etc.
