Georgia's first constitution of 1777 established a general trial court in each of the state's eight counties to be known as a "superior court" (in contrast to the limited jurisdiction of inferior courts). Presently, the superior courts are the state's highest ranking courts with original and general jurisdiction. The records of this series show the names of jurors arranged chronologically by term.

The clerk of the superior court was mandated to maintain a list of registered voters. This list served as a pool for potential jurors. This series contains lists that indicate:(1) name of registered voters; (2) race; (3) address (usually not listed); (4) age, and (5) occupation.

This series consists of one bound volume containing an index to recorded mortgages filed in the Superior Court and is similar to RGSGSERIES 159 - 1 - 44 and RGSGSERIES 159 - 1 - 54. Information presented in this volume includes the: (1) name and address of grantor or mortgagor; (2) name and address of grantee or mortgagee; (3) date instrument was filed; (4) kind of instrument used, and (5) book and page number where instrument was recorded.
